Understanding Parents' Rights, Laws, and How to Read an IEP

Organizing Educational Records
Create a tailored system to organize your child’s educational records for easy access during meetings. This includes both paper-based and digital solutions, ensuring you have everything you need at your fingertips to advocate effectively for your child.

Clarification of Current Documentation
Receive clear, detailed explanations of your child’s current IEP, 504 Plan, or other related documents, such as Behavior Intervention Plans, Functional Behavior Assessments, or Transition Plans. Understand what these documents outline and how they apply to your child's education.

Meeting Preparation
Prepare effectively for upcoming meetings by identifying high-priority concerns and educational goals. Develop a list of informed questions to ask, explore necessary accommodations or supports, and ensure the focus remains on your child's specific needs and strengths.

Pay-What-You-Can Appointments (held monthly from August to May)

I believe that every child deserves the right support and every family should get the guidance they need—no matter the budget! At IEP Insights, I believe cost shouldn’t stand in the way of understanding your child’s IEP and educational rights.  You decide what you can afford to pay, there is no minimum fee, and any contribution helps sustain this service and allows me to assist more families in need.

Meeting Preparation

Meeting Preparation - $275

Prepare to advocate confidently for your child’s education with this comprehensive 3-hour consulting package. Here's how it works:

• Initial Consultation (30 minutes): Discuss concerns and ideal outcomes in a preliminary meeting via video or phone call. 

• Record Review and Analysis (90 minutes): In-depth analysis of current educational records, including IEP and assessment documentation. You’ll receive a detailed report highlighting observations, targeted questions for your meeting, recommendations, and an overview of the IEP process.

• Preparation Meeting (Up to 90 minutes): Review detailed report and collaborate to refine questions, identify educational goals, and evaluate accommodations and supports. Walk away fully prepared for your upcoming meeting!
